What are your hourly rates? |
We do not have an hourly rate which is chargeable to customers. All jobs are priced according to task. We make a decision as to how long the task will take and then multiply that by a constant. The constant used for the multiplication varies according to whether it is a domestic service, commercial service, builders clean, sparkle clean, a one off clean or a contract clean. Variations are then added according to equipment to be used, materials used and degree of travelling involved. Consequently working out the cost of a job is not a simple task of quoting an hourly rate it involves the manipulation of a complex set of variables which change from job to job.

Do you supply everything required? |
As a general rule , yes, we supply all equipment and materials required to carry out the task. An allowance for these is made in the initial costing exercise we carry out. We can also supply consummables such as bin liners, black sacks, toilet rolls, soap and all the required dispensers. However as the demand for these changes over time we bill these items separately as and when they are supplied. Many cleaning firms will build the cost of these into their quotes, which means they have to estimate their useage over a period of time. These estimates are invariably over estimated which means the customer ends up paying more than they actually need to.
The supply of equipment and materials applies to all work undertaken by Sparkle Cleaning Services whether it be commercial contract work or domestic work.

Does commercial cleaning differ from domestic cleaning? |
Essentially no. We are a cleaning service not a tidying service. The same principles of cleaning and adoption of high standards applies equally to our commercial and domestic work.

What are your hourly rates for domestic cleans? |
We do not have an hourly rate. Our charges for domestic cleaning are calculated on the same basis as commercial cleaning. We do however have a minimum charge of £23.50 per call. This is our lowest price, it will then rise according to the size of the property, number of bathrooms and showers etc. We like to be on the premises for no longer than one and a half hours. Cleans will always involve two cleaners on the premises and for larger properties three will often be used so that we can complete the clean within a reasonable time. One off cleans and spring cleans will often involve four cleaners.

How much do you charge for a one off clean of a domestic property? |

A guide to the cost can be found here . However the precise costing will be very dependant upon the state of the property and these figures should be taken as a rough guide only and it could be more, equally it could be less. All prices shown are inclusive of VAT.

How do we pay you? |
Commercial customers are invoiced every month.
Domestic customers can be billed on a monthly basis or a weekly basis or the cleaners can be paid at the conclusion of each visit. It is entirely up to the customer to decide what suits them and their circumstances best.

Will we always have the same cleaner? |
For the commercial cleans we like to keep the same cleaner/cleaners in place as they can then build a healthy rapport with the customer. As many cleans are now undertaken during normal working hours this is vitally important. An identical situation exists with our domestic customers. So yes, at least one of the cleaners visiting you on a regular basis will be constant.

Do you pay your cleaners the minimum wage? |
No. All our cleaners are paid well in excess of the minimum wage. The actual rate varies according to the area in which they are employed, the time of day or night they work and the type of job they are doing. Some tasks such as builders cleans attract quite high rates of pay.

Can we have a trial period to find out what your service is actually like? |
The first months cleaning is done on a trial basis. If at the end of that period you are happy and wish to proceed then you will be asked to sign a 12 month contract which you can terminate at any time with one months notice. This only applies to commercial customers. Domestic customers do not enter into any form of contract unless they wish to do so.

No. We are very much above the National average for cleaning companies when it comes to staff retention. In fact our turnover rate is very low.

Whats the difference between normal cleaning and deep cleaning? |
A normal weekly clean will take on average one hour whilst a deep clean can take between 3 - 6 hours and involves more cleaners depending on the size of the building. With deep cleaning all surfaces, woodwork, sills doors etc. will be wiped down with a cleaning solution whilst in a normal clean they will probably be dusted. With a deep clean furniture that can be moved will be moved whilst in a normal clean this is only done periodically.
